Lesson Review
Our 5 senses are our sense of hearing, sight, taste, smell and touch.
Very often, we rely on elaborating on what we see in our writings.
However, we can elaborate on details by making use of our other senses too!
We should ask ourselves what we see, what we hear, what we smell, what we feel and what we taste.
While it may be seemingly difficult to elaborate on what we taste or what we smell, we do not have to describe the actual taste or actual smell.
We can give the character's reaction to the experience.
eg. Jack took a sip of the soup, held it in his mouth and then winced. (what we taste)
Anne held her nose between her finger and thumb, closed her mouth and hurried from the room. (what we smell)
